Try Not to Visit During “Jersey Week” (Disney World Tips – 173 of 365)

Magic Kingdom

When you’re trying to come up with a less crowded time to travel to Disney World, you might think that the beginning of November is the perfect time.

It’s the end of the Food & Wine Festival, it’s cooled down and isn’t so hot, and most people won’t be vacationing…right?

Well, that’s mostly the case, except for “Jersey Week.”

What is Jersey Week you ask?

New Jersey has “Teacher’s Convention” on Thursday and Friday of the first full week of November. This means that all schools in NJ are closed.

You wouldn’t think that would make a huge difference in Disney World traffic, but it does.

A lot of people decide to head down to Disney World during the time off, and some even make it a full week’s vacation.

If you decide to travel during this time, you’ll notice prices are higher, hotels get full more quickly, and once you’re there, the parks are a lot more crowded.

So please, feel free to travel during the early part of November, but make sure you see when the NJ Teacher’s Convention is, and try to avoid it if you can. It’s still better to go then instead of Christmas, Easter, or during the summer…but if you can go just a few days earlier or later, you’ll see a huge difference!
