Learn to Draw

You may not know this, but if you go DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney (soon to be called Disney Springs), one of the things you’ll find there is the Animation Academy.

There used to be one in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but that recently closed. So if you enjoyed it there and were afraid you couldn’t do it again, just go to DisneyQuest!

What happens in the Animation Academy?

You learn how to draw a Disney Character. Every half hour, a Disney animator will show you how to draw a specific character. Each time the character is different, so you never know who you’ll get a chance to draw.

You definitely do NOT have to be good at drawing to do this. I can’t draw for the life of me, and I bet you can still tell that the drawing above that I did was of Pluto.

Was the drawing I did amazing? No, but I can’t believe that I was able to do that with the instructions that the animator gave us!

Each session is about a half of an hour, and I bet you’ll be surprised at how incredible your picture turns out, even if you can’t draw either.

The animator is very helpful at telling you what to do step-by-step, and before you know it, you’ll recognize your drawing.

Once you’re inside DisneyQuest, it doesn’t cost anything extra. So feel free to do as many character drawings as you’d like!
