Best Ways to Get on Your Favorite Rides with No Fastpass (Disney World Tips – 26 of 365)

When to ride your favorite rides

There are some rides, that no matter how empty the park seems, are ALWAYS crowded.

So what do you do if your favorite ride is one of them? Maybe you love Toy Story Mania or the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train? (I know I do!)

If you don’t have a Fastpass+ for your favorite ride – or if you do, but going on it just once a day is not acceptable to you, there are a few ways that you can get on the ride more times without having to wait in hour plus lines.

If you’re a morning person, make sure you’re at the park before rope drop. If you’re one of the first few people in line, even if you have a wait, it won’t be very long. You might find that you can even go twice before the line starts getting long.

Another option is if you’re willing to miss a parade or fireworks (including Epcot’s Illuminations and DHS’s Fantasmic) you’ll find that the lines are a lot shorter during these times as well. You might get to go on them multiple times while other people are watching one of the night shows or fireworks, or if everyone else is waiting for the parade to go by.

Yet another great time to get on your favorite ride is at the very end of the day. A lot of people (especially with young children) get tired and will leave before the park closes, especially if it’s open pretty late. Also, a lot of people will go home after the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom, even if the park doesn’t close for hours afterwards! So this is a good time to go on popular rides as well.

If you’re staying on Disney property, one other great time to go on rides with less of a wait is during Extra Magic Hours. Every park at least once a week has Extra Magic Hours – meaning it either opens an hour earlier to people staying on property, or will stay open up to 3 hours later. This can give you a lot of extra time that not everyone else gets, and will give you a chance to go on rides when the parks are less crowded.

Between all of these options, whether you’re an early riser or a night owl, you should get a chance to go on your favorite rides, even when the parks are crowded.
