Make Sure Your Favorite Rides will be Open (Disney World Tips – 24 of 365)
All 4 of these rides have been closed for refurbishment at one time or another.
If you have a favorite ride (or rides) at Disney World, one must before planning your trip is to make sure that the ride (or rides) will be open.
One way to do this is check the refurbishment schedule at WDW Info. They are usually very up to date with what rides will be closed. You can also do a Google search just to double check.
While most of the time it won’t make or break your trip, if a ride is important to you, it’s nice to know if and when it will be refurbished.
Most refurbishments are planned well in advance, so if you check it before you book your trip, you should be set.
Just note that this will only tell you about planned closings and refurbishments. Every so often, something not under Disney’s control will happen and a ride will have to close (take for example when the Enchanted Tiki Room had a small fire in early 2011 and ended up closed for over 6 months.)
