Consider Walking (or Taking the Boat) from Epcot to DHS (or from DHS to Epcot) – (Disney World Tips – 10 of 365)
Depending on where you in Epcot, it can be a really long trek to Disney’s Hollywood Studios by bus.
If you’re in the World Showcase, and want to go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you may think you have to walk all the way to the front of Epcot, hop on a bus, and go to DHS that way.
Up until a few years ago, that’s what I thought.
Then I realized that you can leave Epcot through the World Showcase (in between France and the United Kingdom), and either walk or take a boat (it’s free) to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
You’ll walk through the area known as “The Boardwalk”, and you’ll also go past Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Vilas, and the Walt Disney World Dolphin and Swan resorts. There are a bunch of stores and restaurants on the boardwalk as well.
While it’s quicker to walk, if you’re bringing children or are exhausted, taking the boat is a nice relaxing ride! I’d say the boat takes about 20 minutes to go from one park to another, as it stops at the hotels along the way.
Now that I know about it, I’ve used it many times to go from Epcot to DHS, or from DHS to Epcot. It’s made it a lot quicker and easier to switch parks! Plus if you’re looking to do something a little different or have a snack, there are plenty of stops that you can make along the way.
