Tips for Visiting Disney World in December (Disney World Tips – 321 of 365)

December in Disney World

If you’re looking to visit Disney World in December, here are some things to take note of:

  • Now that it’s December, you’ll have a mix of weather. It won’t be hot out anymore, but you should still be able to wear short sleeves some days. The mornings and evenings will be cooler. Make sure you check the weather before you go, as it can really vary even day to day.
  • The beginning of the month is usually not very crowded, and is a good time to visit if you want to see the Christmas decorations without having to deal with the crowds.
  • This should go without saying, but the parks are very, very crowded between Christmas and New Years.
  • Often on Christmas Day and New Years Eve, the parks will stop letting people in because there are so many guests already inside.
  • Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be going on throughout the month. This means that on certain days the Magic Kingdom will be more crowded, and will close earlier than normal.
  • There will be a lot of holiday events going on throughout the month at all of the parks and even the hotels.
  • Towards the end of the month, since the parks will be so packed, the parks will be open much later.
  • If you’re going to go during this time, make sure you have Fastpass+ reservations, get to the parks before opening, and have a plan so you can go on the rides you want. While you will still be waiting in lines, it won’t be as bad as if you don’t plan anything and get there after the parks open.
