Top Reasons for Staying at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside (Disney World Tips – 285 of 365)

Disney Port Orleans Resort Riverside

If you want to stay on Disney World property, and want something a little nicer than a value resort, consider staying at one of the Disney’s Port Orleans Resort’s. There is Riverside and the French Quarter.

Here are some great reasons to stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.

  • The resort is themed to rural Louisiana.
  • It’s closest to Disney Springs, and then Epcot, so it’ll take you less time to get there than other places on property.
  • There is a 3-acre area with a pool and sawmill slide, catch-and-release fishing area, Muddy Rivers pool bar, and hot tub for adults.
  • You can book horse drawn carriage rides at the resort.
  • Riverside is a lot larger than the French Quarter, and parts may be a long walk to parking, the busses, etc…
  • Since you’re on Disney property, you get all of the great benefits, such as the bus system, Magical Express, and extra hours at the parks.
  • All of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort shares one bus, but there are multiple stops since the property is so big (only 1 stop is at the French Quarter, the rest are at Riverside).
  • Riverside has a food court as well as Boatwright’s Dining Hall, while the French Quarter only has a food court.
  • You can take a boat to get to Disney Springs, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa from the hotel.
  • You get fun benefits such as Movies under the Stars, awesome themed pools, great food court, shop, arcade, a place to do laundry, playground, bike rentals, fishing, and more.
