Avoid Disney During Christmas (Disney World Tips – 198 of 365)

Goofy Santa

Avoid visiting Disney World during Christmas break if you have any other time during the year that you can visit.  By this I mean the week between Christmas and New Years, and any surrounding weekends.

It is one of the most crowded weeks of the year (if not the MOST crowded), and parks will be busy.

If you want to see the Christmas decorations, you can visit earlier in the month, and still get to see everything without the crowds.

If you absolutely have no other time to visit, just adjust your expectations.

Know that the parks will be busy. Plan to use Fastpass+ and get to the parks before they open.

That last part is actually a big deal. Granted the parks are less crowded early in the morning, but if too many people enter a park, they can close it to new people. This happens during the Christmas break, and so if you get there too late, you might have to change your plans and go to a different park as the one you wanted could be full.

Know that you’ll be with friends or family, and will have a good holiday, but don’t expect to be able to see or do too much each day. There will be too many people everywhere, and you’ll have a bad trip if your expectations are too high.

If on the other hand you take it for what it is, and only have a few things you want to do each day, you can still have a fun trip. It is the holiday season after all!
