Best Time to go on the Kilimanjaro Safari at Animal Kingdom (Disney World Tips – 84 of 365)
If you’ve ever gone on Disney’s Kilimanjaro Safari in the middle of a hot afternoon, you’ll probably notice that any animals you see are laying down, sleeping.
And that’s if you see them at all. Much of the time, they’re hiding out in the shade to get away from the hot sun.
So when is the best time to see the animals, especially when they’re awake and at play?
First thing in the morning.
It’s usually still nice and cool, and the animals are walking around, eating breakfast, and having fun playing.
Once it gets too hot, they’ll try to avoid the sun.
If you can’t make it to Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning, what’s your second best bet? Late in the afternoon. Once it starts cooling down, you’ll have more of a chance to see some of the animals.
But if you want to see the most animals, and especially get a chance to see the lions actually awake, and maybe even standing up – first thing in the morning is your best bet!
