Do “Disney” Without the Parks to Save Money! (Disney World Tips – 23 of 365)
Disney World is a lot of fun, and I’ll admit that a lot of the fun comes from the parks.
But what if you will only be in the area for a short time, and it isn’t worth spending the money to go to the parks?
Or what if you really need a Disney fix, but just can’t afford the parks? I mean, a 1 day ticket to the Magic Kingdom costs $100 for adults. If you have a family of 4, that’s really expensive, and is just one day!
So if you need a Disney fix, and will be in the Orlando area, here are a bunch of Disney things you can do that are a lot less expensive. I’m sure there are plenty more. These are just the ones at the top of my mind:
- Play miniature golf! – Disney has not one, bu two miniature golf courses. Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf, and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf. It’s not that expensive to play, and if you enjoy mini golf, it’ll be fun for the whole family!
- Downtown Disney – You’ve got shopping, restaurants, live entertainment, and more. There is even a hot air balloon “Characters in Flight” where you can go 400 in the air in a tethered helium balloon. If you’re into games, DisneyQuest is a lot of fun, and if you’re looking for entertainment, Cirque du Soleil has La Nouba.
- Water Parks – Just because you’re staying away from the main parks, you can always visit either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. The price is a little more than half of the cost of the 4 parks, and you can easily spend the whole day having fun!
- Walk around the different hotel – This is the most fun around the holidays, but at any time of year it’s fun to visit the different hotels, their restaurants, and their stores.
- The Boardwalk – Take a walk down the boardwalk, between Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot. There are stores, restaurants, and more. It’s a fun way to spend a few hours. They have an exciting nightlife there as well with multiple options.
- Sports – If you’re into sports, you can rent bikes, boats, play golf, or more.
- Spas – If you enjoy being pampered, there are many spas on property where you can get a spa treatment and relax.
As you can see, there are things that will keep you busy not just for the day, but for days and days, and that’s all without going near the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom.
Obviously those 4 are a lot of fun, but if you want a quick Disney fix, the above options will definitely help!
