How to Avoid the Crowds Leaving the Park at the End of the Day – (Disney World Tips – 17 of 365)

Disney Buses

No matter which park you’re at, when the park closes, there are a TON of people trying to leave…all at the same time.

Here’s a tip that will help you avoid the crowds. When it’s published that a park is closing at 10pm for example, that’s just the time that the rides shut down. The park is officially “open” for at least a half an hour after that, and usually even longer.

What can you do during this time? Walk through the stores. They will still be open. Especially the ones that are closest to the entrance.

This is a great time to stroll through the stores, do your shopping, and wait out all of the people who are standing in line at the buses, waiting for the monorail, or are even waiting to be brought back to their car.

Sure, you’ll still have to do that too…but if you take your time walking through the almost empty park, and looking in the stores, by the time you get outside, the lines will be a LOT shorter, and it will be a lot easier to get out – no matter what form of transportation you were thinking of using.

As a bonus – you’ll be able to buy whatever you want without having to worry about carrying it around all day! You’re on your way back to wherever your sleeping in just a short time, so it’s the perfect time to shop.

As a plus, this is a great time to get some pictures of an almost empty park! Since everyone is rushing out, you can take a few pictures that have hardly any people in it!

If the thought of staying at a park even later is just too much for you or your family to handle, here’s a bonus tip:  Make sure you leave before the nightly entertainment is over!  For example, if the fireworks have JUST started (or haven’t started yet), you’ll be a lot less likely to stand in line.  Yes, you’ll have to leave early, but if it’s that kind of night, your whole family will be happy you did!
