Make Your Fastpass+ Reservations Early (30 or 60 Days Out Depending) – Disney World Tips – 8 of 365
If you’re staying on property, you’ll get a Magic Band like the ones seen in the picture (available in many different colors) that will also have your fastpasses on them, and you’ll be able to book your Fastpass+ reservations 60 days before your trip. Once you hit the first day of your trip, you can book for each day at that time.
If you’re not staying on property, you can start booking your Fastpass+ reservations 30 days before your trip for each day of admission.
Other then that, Fastpass+ is the same for everyone.
You get to choose 3 FastPass+ selections for a single park per day. Once you finish all 3, you can go to a kiosk in a park and add one more. Once you use that one, you can go back and add another…and can continue like that for the rest of the day.
If you have a park hopper, while the first 3 selections have to all be at the same park, after that you can go to a kiosk at any park and make your 1 selection at a time.
You might think it’s not worth making reservations for rides ahead of time, but I can tell you that if you wait until you get there, or even a few weeks out, you won’t have as many choices.
The last time I was in Disney (last November), I booked my Fastpass+ about 60 days out, and still had a hard time getting one for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Roller Coaster. Granted I was only going to the Magic Kingdom certain days, but I didn’t have much of a choice of when I wanted to make the reservation. While a lot of rides will still have availability to make reservations even the day of, rides like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Roller Coaster and Toy Story Mania will be all gone.
So if certain rides are important to you and you don’t want to have to wait in line for them, make sure you get your FastPass+ reservations as soon as you’re allowed to book them!
