Get Picked up at the Airport & Taken to your Disney World Hotel for Free! (Disney World Tips – 4 of 365)

Disney Buses

This is one of the many Disney buses that you can ride within Disney World – to the different parks and to and from your hotel as well as Downtown Disney and more!

If you’ve stayed at a Walt Disney Resort, you probably already know this.

But if you haven’t, you may not.

If you’re staying on Walt Disney World property, you don’t have to worry about transportation at ALL.

Magical Express will pick you up from the airport (Orlando International) for free. They’ll even get your luggage for you and bring it to your room. You drop it off at your home airport, and don’t see it again until it’s in your room. Pretty magical if you ask me!

They’ll also take you back to the airport as well. And again, if you give them your luggage (and you’re on one of a select group of airlines), they’ll take your luggage and you won’t see it again until you get back to your home airport.

While you’re in Disney, you can use any of the many buses, boats, or the monorail to get around. It’s great! I love not needing to worry about how I’m going to get anywhere. From the time I get to the airport until I’m back at home, I don’t need to worry about transportation at all.

And if you were worried about waiting for a bus, don’t be.  Except at park closing, when hundreds of people want to go back to the same hotel as you, and you end up waiting a little while, I’ve rarely had to wait more than 20 minutes for a bus.  Usually it’s more like I walk outside, and within a few minutes a bus is there ready to take me to my destination.

I’m not sure I mentioned the best part.

It’s free! For the price of your room, you get to ride the Magical Express to and from the airport.

For me, the magic begins as soon as I get on the bus…because they show a cute video on the way to the hotel! It’s silly, but it reminds me that I’ve arrived! On the way back to the airport you get a video as well, but it’s all about planning other Disney vacations, and since you’re on your way home, it’s never as fun as going TO the parks!
