Visit Disney World Off Season! (Disney World Tips – 1 of 365)

Visit Disney World Off Season

If you can choose when to go on vacation, I strongly suggest visiting Walt Disney World off season.

That means you should stay far away from Disney during any holidays – Easter, Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, etc. If you can, staying away during the summer will help too.

By visiting Disney World “off season” (in other words, visiting during a slower time), you’ll see a huge difference and it will feel like a completely different vacation.

It will be a lot more relaxing, stress free, and you won’t have to spend hours waiting in lines!

You may think it’s impossible to just walk onto almost any ride, but when I visit Disney World, that’s usually what happens. I end up having to only wait (a short time) for the most crowded rides – and that’s if I didn’t have a fastpass scheduled for it.

Most rides I am able to just walk right on.

So now we’ve talked about when you shouldn’t go – if you can help it. When should you visit?

My favorite time of year to visit is in the fall right after school has started. The whole month of September is usually pretty empty, and you’ll find that it’s easy to get on almost any ride when you want to.

From the middle of November to the middle of December it’s usually pretty quiet as well, minus Thanksgiving weekend of course!

If you wanted to go at the beginning of the year, January and most of February are usually pretty good, once kids have gone back to school, and before February’s “Winter Break” begins.

In other words, think of it this way.  If children are out of school, there will be more people at the parks.  If most are in school, it will be a lot less crowded!  That’s the easiest way to figure out when to go.

I want to stress this. If you can’t go during one of the slower times, don’t think you won’t have a fun trip! You will have to plan a little more, but you will still have an amazing trip, any time of year.  It is Disney World after all!
