We both got the same color Magic Band, but there are several to choose from.

Last year I went to Walt Disney World, and was able to use the new Magic Band, and I have one thing to say about it.

It was awesome!!!

Seriously. It made things so much easier, and was a lot of fun too.

I’ve been to Walt Disney World many times, and have always used the card that was your key, entrance into the parks, and more. I really didn’t think that I was going to like the Magic Band, or that it would make that much of a difference.

But after just one day, I realized how much easier it was making things…and I loved it.

The one tiny negative? When you’re using it to buy something at one of the stores, it almost doesn’t feel like you’re spending money! It’s just so simple to put your hand up to the touch point, put in a pin…it just doesn’t seem like it’s real money. So make sure you pay attention to that and don’t end up spending more than you wanted!

Here’s how we used it:

• It’s your room key. Now, you know how it is at the end of the night, when you’re tired, and you FINALLY get back to your hotel room. The last thing you want to do is search for the key (or card as it’s been for quite a few years now.) Even though it was usually in my pocket, if I had anything in my hands, it was a pain to get.No more! Now it’s nice and easy to just put your wrist up against the door, even if your hands are full. It makes it great when you run to get some ice for the room too.
• It’s your ticket to the parks. Whenever you get to a park, you just put your wrist up until the touch point, then your finger like you usually do, and then you’re in. It’s nice and simple and you don’t have to worry about everyone having their tickets.
• It’s your Fastpass+. Now you don’t have to collect the little pieces of paper and keep track of them. You can set up your Fastpass+ online or in the parks, and to use them you just put your Magic Band up against the touch point in front of the ride, and it will turn green if you’re in the right timeframe to go on the ride.
• It’s your Photopass card.If you decide to use Photopass, you don’t need a separate card anymore. You just show the photographer your Magic Band, and they’ll scan it and it’ll be attached to your account. Nice and easy.
• It’s an easy way to pay. If you have a credit card attached to your account, you can use the Magic Band to pay at most of the stores. It makes it really easy so you don’t need to keep cash or a credit card on you. You just go to the register, put the Magic Band up against the touch point, enter your 4 digit pin, and you’re done.
• It’s your meal plan. If you’re on a dining plan, you just tell the waiter/waitress, let them scan your Magic Band, and you’re all set.

Using a Magic Band can make things a lot easier on your Disney World trip. I can’t wait to use it the next time I go.
