Disneyland – The New House of the Future

If you were in Disneyland between the years of 1957 to 1967, you might remember an attraction called Monsanto’s House of the Future. It was a futuristic house, where the outside was made of plastic, and had all futuristic furnishings and electronics. If you were to look at pictures of it today, you would laugh as it is nothing even close to what things look like today.

Well, enough time has passed that now Disneyland is going to create a NEW House of the Future. This house will look like a normal house, but will have really cool technology that we don’t use in houses today. For example, it will have:

  • Automatic adjusting lights and thermostats
  • Counter tops that identify your groceries and give you suggestions what to cook
  • Closets that help you pick out your clothes
  • …and a lot more.

Disney is teaming up with Microsoft, HP, and LifeWare to do all of the technology, so you know that there will be some really cool features in the house.

It will open in May 2008, so we won’t have to wait too long in order to see it!
