Since many people have never been to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, over the next few months I’m going to go over some of the basics about the different parks and other major things to do while vacationing in Walt Disney World.

The Magic Kingdom is the one with Cinderella’s castle.  This is the one that has the most rides, and was the first park Walt Disney built in Florida.  The park is split up into 7 different areas called Main Street USA, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Mickey’s Toontown Fair, Liberty Square, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland.

Here are some of the more well known rides, as well as some that we like the best:

• The Haunted Mansion (which will be refurbished this summer)
• Pirates of the Caribbean (which was refurbished last year to add characters from the PotC movies)
• It’s a Small World
• Mickey’s PhilharMagic
• Space Mountain
• Splash Mountain
• Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress
• Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor (This is the newest attraction at Disney, and is an interactive comedy showcase.)

At night there is the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular that includes a really nice fireworks show, all right over the castle.
