Alaska Vacation Review (Overview)

Alaska Cruise Vacation Review

Last spring, I went on my first trip to Alaska. It started out with a 7-day cruise on the Coral Princess leaving out of Vancouver, and then we did a cruise tour that took us to Denali and Fairbanks. To say it was an incredible trip is just not enough. It was by far the most beautiful place I’ve ever been, and I’ve traveled a lot.  If you’re looking into booking a trip to Alaska, I’m sure you have a lot of questions, and hopefully I’ll be able to answer a lot of them for you with this review.

I already want to go back, and am hoping to do another Alaska cruise and tour within the next few years. This time I’d want to go to a few different ports, and stay at a few different cities after the cruise, but I know I must go back.

I know that when I was doing research to plan my trip, it was extremely helpful to see other people talking about their trips…what they saw, what they liked, and what they didn’t. So, in the following posts, I’m going to review all different parts of my trip to Alaska. What I did, what I saw, what I liked, what I didn’t, and what made me fall in love with Alaska.

I’ll be sure to post a lot of pictures as well.  I took thousands of pictures and videos during my trip, so I have plenty to choose from.

My review will cover my trip to Vancouver (I stayed overnight), my 7-night cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage on the Coral Princess, and my stops in Denali and Fairbanks afterwards.  I’ll also write about the tour excursions I went on, the Alaska Railroad, and more.

Here was the itinerary of the trip:

Day 1: Arrive in Vancouver, See Vancouver, Review of the Vancouver Aquarium
Day 2: Visit Capilano Suspension Bridge, Grouse Mountain, Embark on Cruise
Day 3: Day at Sea
Day 4: Ketchikan, Alaska
Day 5: Juneau, Alaska
Day 6: Skagway, Alaska
Day 7: Cruising Glacier Bay National Park
Day 8: Cruising College Fjord
Day 9: Disembark Cruise, Alaska Railroad to Denali
Day 10: Denali
Day 11: Alaska Railroad to Fairbanks
Day 12: Fairbanks
Day 13: Fairbanks, Depart Alaska
