Be prepared with vaccinations when traveling abroad

Planning on traveling abroad this year? Many countries, especially third world countries require you to get certain vaccinations before visiting their country.

You can check on required vaccinations, diseases found in the area and other health risks at the Center for Disease Control website.

Many countries require you to show proof you have had your vaccinations a month in advance. Africa has the largest list of required vaccinations, including Hepatitis B, diptheria, tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella and polio. There are even more that are recommended but not required. Requirements also vary by country.

Be prepared and stay healthy.
