The Arc de Triomphe has Great Views of Paris!
The Arc de Triomphe was crated to honor those who fought and died in the French Revolution as well as the Napoleonic Wars. Beneath the Arc, you’ll find the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.
Besides being a really interesting memorial to visit, you’ll also find amazing views of Paris at the top.
To get to the Arc, know that you’ll need to go to one of the two underground passageways. There roads surrounding the Arc de Triomphe are very crowded, and you don’t want to even try to cross them!
Once you’re there, you can walk up the 284 steps to get to the top. If that sounds like too much, you can take an elevator most of the way up, but you’ll still need to walk about 40ish steps up.
It’s a long walk up…but the views are worth it.
Don’t worry if it takes you a while to walk up, as there are many other people who will be going slowly as well!
From the top of the Arc de Triomphe, you’ll see 12 different avenues around you, including the famous Champs-Elysees. You can easily see the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, and more.
Before you go outside, you’ll find a place to sit, which after the long climb up, you might want to enjoy. You’ll also find a small gift shop.
Before or after you’re done, you can enjoy all of the sculptures on the Arc de Triumph, as they are really incredible.
From here, I strongly suggest a walk down the Champs-Elysees, as it’s so close.
