Natural Wonders in Each State – Why do You Travel?
What are the reasons you like to travel?
I have many, but one of the reasons I love to travel is to see nature. Everywhere you visit, even within the United States can be SO different.
I love visiting waterfalls, mountains, glaciers, lakes…you name it, I’ll enjoy it.
So I thought it was really cool when CNN listed 50 natural wonders, one in each state.
I’ll be the first to admit how few of them I’ve been to, even though I’ve been to many states! I haven’t even seen exactly what they are talking about in New Jersey…and I live here! I mean, I’ve gone over the Delaware Water Gap many times going back and forth between NJ and PA, but I haven’t seen anything like the amazing picture they have for New Jersey…so I will have to make sure that changes soon!
How many of them have you visited?
After seeing these, I definitely want to travel within the US more, and want to cross some of those off of my list.
Here are just a few of the locations listed:
- Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska
- Crater of Diamonds State Park, Arkansas
- Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada
- Crater Lake, Oregon
- Cherry Springs State Park, Pennsylvania
Out of all of the ones I’d like to visit next, I think Cherry Springs State Park in PA is top on my list. It’s about 4 and a half hours away, so definitely more than a day trip…but I love looking at the stars.
When I was in Hawaii it was amazing how many stars you could see in the night sky since there was so little light pollution. So it would be incredible to find out how much you could see in PA. Hopefully I’ll be able to find out soon!
