Roman Ruins in Paris: See the Archeological Crypt Under Notre-Dame
When you’re planning a trip to Paris, you think about all of the well known sights to visit that you’ve heard about over and over.
There’s Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, and so on.
But one thing you probably didn’t even know existed is an Archeological Crypt right in front of Notre-Dame!
Even better, if you have the Museum Pass, it’s free to get in!
It’s a really cool place, and you don’t have to spend too long in it to get something out of it.
Around all of the ruins, you’ll see a lot of text and drawings.
The drawings show you how different Paris was back in the day. They’re really interesting to look at, and if you’ve seen a Paris map before, you’ll see how things have changed over the years.
What’s really great is all of the text.
You can read about what things were like at different times, and when all of this was taking place. It was really interesting!
Of course, the highlight is the ruins themselves.
While they are of course ruins, and it’s hard to tell what most things are, there are some explanations that you can read about.
It’s still really neat to take a look at them and know that they were here way before the Paris we know ever existed!
If you’re going to be in the area, I’d strongly suggest taking a short time and checking it out. It’s really interesting.
