It’s Easy to Get Around Paris on the Metro!
If you’ve never been to another country before, you may think that using their metro would be complicated.
First of all, it’s in another language!
But I want to tell you that it is REALLY easy to get around Paris using the Metro, even if you don’t know any French at all.
One thing that makes it easy is by getting a Paris Visite Pass.
You can get one for 1, 2, 3, or 5 days. If you’re just going to be touring Paris, you will only need the cheapest tickets, with Zones 1-3.
With this card, you don’t have to worry about buying a ticket each time you go on the metro. The one card is good for the entire length of your trip, and you can go on it an unlimited amount of times. It makes it nice and quick to slide your card through, and get to your train.
This is great when you’re going from attraction to attraction, and need to use the metro a lot.
The map is very easy to understand, and you’ll get one with your Paris Visite Pass.
If you’re worried about what to do once you get to the station, don’t.
Every station has a little map that shows you exactly where the trains are going. So you’ll not only get on the right train, but the one going the right way!
So as long as you’re paying attention where you’re walking, it should be very easy to get to where you’re going.
A lot of the stops are updated too, and will tell you exactly how many minutes until the next train comes through. It makes it nice to know exactly when you’ll be leaving.
On many of the trains, you’ll see it highlighted at what stop you’re at, so you’ll know exactly when to get off.
Even if it isn’t an updated train though, at each stop they say what stop it is, plus you’ll see the name of it as the train stops.
So even if you don’t speak French, it is VERY easy to get around Paris using the metro.
Plus, there are metro stops near all the major attractions! Some do require that you walk a few blocks, but many are right next to the attraction.
So you can easily get around Paris just using the metro.
If you’re going to Paris, I strongly suggest using the metro as your main method of transportation. It’s inexpensive, will get you to all the major tourist attractions, and is really easy!
