Great Tip to Save Money on Almost Every Vacation You Take – Bring Breakfast
When you go on vacation, you often eat out for every meal. Even if there are only 2 of you, that can really add up!
Here’s a great tip to saving money on food on your next trip.
BRING BREAKFAST!
Let’s face it. Most of the time while you’re eating breakfast you’re still half asleep. For most people, it’s not the most exciting meal of the day. You just need to eat something so that you can make it until lunch.
But buying breakfast for everyone every day can get expensive.
So here are some great options of things you can bring so that everyone can eat while you’re in the hotel room, and then you can go:
- Cereal – you can either eat it dry, or buy a container of milk if your room has a refrigerator.
- Breakfast bars / cereal bars / granola bars / etc.
- Fruit
- Pop Tarts (Not the most nutritious, but it is vacation after all!)
- Bagels / bread / pastries / etc.
- Nuts
- …and more. The options are limitless really. Anything that doesn’t require cooking or refrigeration assuming you won’t have a refrigerator or way to cook anything will work.
Bonus: This is much faster than going to a restaurant as well, so you’ll end up with more time during the day to do what you want!
If you’re thinking that since you’re not driving that this won’t work for you…think again. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thrown breakfast bars and more into my suitcase so that I could eat them for breakfast while on vacation. It’s really easy and doesn’t take up much room in the suitcase – plus it leaves room for souvenirs for the way back!
If breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, then by all means don’t do this for breakfast. But if that’s the case, maybe you should consider something like this for lunch instead, and bring any of the above, or sandwiches etc…so that you can still not have to pay for 3 meals a day out while on vacation.
Enjoy,
