Norwegian Breakaway Gets Restaurant Lined Boardwalk
What a great week for news about new cruise ships that are currently being built!
Yesterday I wrote about the Royal Princess, and the new buffet it will be getting, and then just a few minutes ago IÂ read a great article about the Norwegian Breakaway, and some of it’s new features.
The Norwegian Breakaway is scheduled to debut in April 2013, so unfortunately we still have about a year to wait for it. But it sounds like it will be very different from previous ships. They are adding a quarter mile long boardwalk that will be lined with restaurants, bars, and shops.
I love walking around outside while at sea, so being able to do this while having cool things to do on the ship sounds like a lot of fun. The boardwalk (called The Waterfront) will be on both sides of the ship, which sounds like a smart move so that hopefully the crowds will be spaced out.
I’ve been on a few Norwegian cruises, and one thing I loved about them was the amount of dining options you have. With most ships, you have a main dining room and a buffet to choose from. Not so on Norwegian, and definitely not so on the new Breakaway. They plan on having 17 dining venues and 12 bars and lounges.
I don’t care how picky of an eater you are, I’m SURE you can find something you enjoy with all of those options. And if you’re someone who loves all types of food, imagine all of the fun you’ll have getting to try the different restaurants out.
Are you looking forward to seeing the new Norwegian Breakaway? I know I am!
Enjoy,
P.S. If you’re ready to book your next cruise, I strongly suggest using Cruise Compete. You’ll be sure to get the best price as different agency’s will give you their best quote, and you can choose the lowest price!
