I really enjoy cruising, so when I hear about new features being put in place on new cruise ships that are being built, I get excited!

I just saw this great article on USA Today about how Princess Cruises is going to go big with the buffet on their next ship. Not only is the Royal Princess (the next Princess ship which is going to debut in June 2013) going to get a bigger buffet (called the Horizon Court eatery) but it’s going to have a better, more open layout, and will have room for twice as many passengers.

As someone who has been on a few Princess cruises already, I can 100% get behind a food court with more room to sit. I can’t tell you the amount of times for lunch I had a hard time finding an empty table…especially on sea days! So this is great to hear.

That’s not even all that’s coming to the expanded buffet. It looks like it will also get a dedicated pastry shop for desserts. I don’t know about you, but that sounds great to me! I love being able to get yummy desserts, so the more choices the merrier!

I am definitely looking forward to going on a cruise with the expanded buffet. It looks like they’re retrofitting some of their earlier ships to have this as well, so hopefully before long the whole fleet will have it!
