The Hershey Chocolate Factory
On Saturday, we were passing through Hershey, PA, so we decided to stop at the Chocolate World. I hadn’t been there in many years, and hardly remembered any of it…although I know it has changed many times since the last time I was there. The Hershey tour was free, and is a little ride that shows you how the chocolate is made. Afterwards, you are brought right into the store. The ride was aimed at kids, so was pretty silly, but let’s face it. I didn’t go there for the tour…I went there for the chocolate!
I don’t know if you know this or not, but Hershey has some types of chocolate that they only sell at their stores in Hershey…so you can’t find them at your local grocery store! We picked up a few interesting kinds of chocolate that we hadn’t tried before. We got Special Dark Coffee Kisses, Coconut Crème Kisses, Special Dark Cherry Cordial Kisses, and Special Dark Peppermint Patties. We still haven’t tried them all yet…but they sound great!
That’s really what I recommend about going to Hershey. The store has all kinds of chocolate. While we didn’t buy them, they also had Vanilla Crème Kisses and Macadamia Nuts Kisses.
Hershey also has a lot of other things to do – such as Hershey Park, ZooAmerica, Hershey Outlets, and the Hershey Gardens. We didn’t have much time to visit, but it was still fun to stop by!
