Today’s Destination: Virgin Gorda, BVI
Among the top destinations of 2007 is the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.
Virgin Gorda is the third largest island in the British Virgin Islands and is one of BVI’s top tourist destinations. On the southern end of the island is an unusual geologic formation known as The Baths. It has exotic pools and grottos formed by large boulders on the beaches.
There is plenty of beach to swim, snorkel or go boating. There is a 36 acre park called Little Fort National Park which includes the ruins of an old fort, Fort Point. An area near the fort is called the Aquarium because coral covered boulders enclose a shallow reef where you can dive or snorkel with fish and eels.
There is not much more than restaurants, shops and beautiful scenery, but it’s a great getaway for a relaxing vacation and fun in the sun.
