The New York Times has used Google Maps to create a map of places to visit in 2007. Some of the destinations are no where near the top of our list, but it may give you some good ideas.

Most destinations are in Europe and Asia and you can click on each map marker for the destination and a link to a story about it.

Tops on our list:

• Egypt
• Italian Alps
• Cyprus
• French Riviera

For the very adventurous, you can go with the suggestion of Iran. As it turns out, Iran gives their own incentives to travel agents abroad for bringing tourists to their country. It’s not on the top of our list, but maybe it is for you.
